Bandgaps and vibration isolation of local resonance sandwich-like plate with simply supported overhanging beam

Abstract The concept of local resonance phononic crystals proposed in recent years provides a new chance for theoretical and technical breakthroughs the structural vibration reduction. In this paper, novel sandwich-like plate model with resonator to acquire specific low-frequency bandgaps is proposed. core layer present composed by simply supported overhanging beam, linear spring mass block, well connected upper lower surface panels. beam free at right end, an additional added left end. wave equation established based on Hamilton principle, bending bandgap further obtained. results are verified COMSOL finite element software. characteristics studied detail. factors which could have effects characteristics, such as damping, vibrator, position stiffness boundary conditions plates, analyzed. result shows that stopband determined natural frequency resonator, ratio panel. It width greatly affected damping resonator. Finally, it can also be found affect isolation efficiency.
